TL;DR ahead, can also be said like this- ADHD isn't funny, or a joke. Just because you get distracted doesn't mean you have it. And if you do "have it", it doesn't make you cool.
-edit- I'm going to replace my lame story with TWO that are better. This will show you that ADHD is not just about LOL I GET DISTRACTED- it's other things too. I can't really explain it but here are the stories.
First, I was told to clean out my cat's water bowl and replace the water. I rinsed out the bowl but I forgot to fill it back up again. This whole process happened in under 30 seconds. My poor cats had no water until someone noticed there was none. I felt like an idiot.
Next, my dad was driving me to school. I usually wear contacts every day. On that day I had forgotten to put them in. I didn't notice 'till like 10 minutes later. We had to drive all the way back home. I felt like an idiot again.
It sucks because people think you're stupid, or a slacker, or apathetic, but the truth is you have to work really hard to remember things.
And what sucks more is that I stopped taking my meds because they gave me a rash! Unrelated, but it still sucks.
Anyway, the thing that pisses me off are those people who are like LOLOLOLOL I'M "HYPER" AND I GET "DISTRACTED" I MUST HAVE ADHD!!! LOLOL COOL HAHAHA I'M AWESOME SPAZ SPAZ.
ADHD isn't a freakin joke. You don't have it because you get excited or bored sometimes, and it's nothing to laugh about.
